Update: we have our winners for the giveaway! The random number generator picked comments from Danielle and Matzoh Fairy. Congratulations, you guys! Your candy will be in the mail soon!
So one of the (many) perks of my job as the candy guide at About.com is that people send me candy for promotional consideration and review. All the time. It's a hard life, coming home to find a big box of gourmet chocolates or licorice on the stoop. Sigh. Usually I have no problem polishing it off myself--it's my job, after all! And if I can't finish it, my husband bravely steps in to help.
However, this most recent box has bested us. I just got a huuuuge box of assorted Easter candy, and we're up to our eyeballs in sweets at our house already. We just can't eat it all! This is where you come in. There is some good stuff here--chocolate from Lindt, Toblerone, Mars, and Hershey, and sugar candy like Peeps, jelly beans, Hot Tamales, and licorice. Also some really random candy I've never seen before!
Want to win a box of Easter candy? Today's your lucky day! Leave a comment to this blog entry before midnight on Wednesday, April 1st, Pacific time, and tell me what your favorite Easter candy is. I'll use the random number generator to pick two winners--yes, two, because there really is a lot of candy. I'll try and split it up so that the two winners get equal parts chocolate and sugary stuff. And, many apologies, but I'm going to limit it to folks in the US, for shipping reasons. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteCadbury Eggs. I stock up to last me through the year!
ReplyDeleteFavorite Easter candy its a toss up between Cadbury mini eggs and the Reeses peanut butter egg! YUMMY
ReplyDeleteCadbury mini eggs are the best - I like sucking on them so they get soft from the inside-out. And despite my love for dark chocolate, the dark chocolate mini eggs are horrendous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous giveaway. Easter has to be the best holiday for candy (especially the day after, when it all goes on sale...)! Looks like you've got quite the stash. Your job at about.com has some real perks, huh? Hope you and your hubby have had a fun time polishing off some yummy looking candy!
ReplyDeletehard to pick just one. my top 3 are cadbury creme eggs, peeps and cadbury mini eggs. I love all 3 and buy them every year.
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet giveaway and super sweet job you have too!
I love Peeps!! Love them. I try to limit myself to just having them at Easter, because now they seem to make them for every holiday. Love your blog!!
ReplyDeleteGotto go with Cadbury mini eggs. Thanks for offering the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI, too, like Cadbury Mini Eggs. But I like the creme ones, too. Yummy!

Cadbury Creme Eggs. No question.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love Cadbury Robin Eggs - the ones with the crackly candy shell and milk chocolate center.
Cadbury Mini Eggs, every time
ReplyDeleteReese's peanut butter eggs, of course.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite, hands down, are the classic yellow marshmallow Peeps. When I was little, my mom and I would play Rummy by the hour, devouring these globs of goodness. Good memories!
ReplyDeleteI {heart} Peeps and Cadbury chocolate mini eggs.
ReplyDeleteEaster candy is by far my favorite. Can't get enough mini eggs.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any Jewish candy?
ReplyDeleteCadbury caramel eggs; Reese's PB Eggs (those were a tradition in our Easter baskets when I was growing up); and egg bubble gum in the little mini egg crate. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun give away. Thank you for doing this!

Peeps...stale Peeps. I cut the package open & let them sit for a couple of days. Oh so good!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read that this is actually something you get PAID to do, I started mumbling profanities under my breath. I called you a slut. I'm sorry. I overreacted - you're not a slut, I'm just ridiculously jealous.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Easter candy is the popcorn-flavored jelly bellies. I always horde them, or strip mine them, whatever you call it.
Hey - maybe you can answer a question for me. There's a candy in England that is something like Skittles, but the candy itself is made by Cadbury, and it's like a wafer-sized M&M. But the coating is 10x better than an M&M. Do you know what it is? It's like the size of a nickel...
Great give away! I have to admit, I love jelly beans. Could eat them until I pop. And especially the black licorice ones. I'm weird, I know. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Easter candy is the snicker candy bars shaped into Easter eggs!
ReplyDeletePeeps...stale hard peeps!
ReplyDeleteIt's always been classic Cadbury eggs for me :)
ReplyDeleteI adore the Cadbury Mini Eggs, both original milk chocolate and the newer dark chocolate. I also have an enduring affection for Reese's Pieces Eggs and Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite candy for Easter is also the Cadbury eggs. I like the caramel ones. You know Liz, I think that the baby would really like all that candy...she maybe even NEEDS it...
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great haul. I totally envy your job! I see some great stuff in that pile... I had no idea Yummy Earth made Easter lollipops, those are one of my favorite snacks.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Easter candy is probably a good, dark chocolate bunny. Simple, I know, but so classic. Thank you so much for sharing with your readers!
i dont like peeps.. i've tried and tried and tried to love them but... no cigar.
ReplyDeletemy favorite are the easter themed snickers and twix's... i'm simple :)
It would have to be Cadbury cream eggs, and heavenly hash eggs (from my youth). Or maybe that 1 pound solid milk chocolate easter bunny that lasted until Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to add another 40 pounds to my matronly frame. HeeHee
Mmm...Cadbury Mini Eggs...they're so darn GOOD!
ReplyDeleteI'm eating for two these days and taking full advantage, so thanks for helping me out!
I love the malted milk eggs, with the crazy tie-dyed and swirled-color candy shells. Whoppers all dressed up!
ReplyDeleteCadbury Mini Eggs! They started putting them out in February, and I started buying them then!
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie, but that Toblerone bar did look pretty awesome! But I have to say I love Easter coins :) hehe They just have so many pretty colored wrappers filled with delicious chocolate :D
ReplyDeleteand who doesn't love Peeps :) I make them as smores...
stil.. Easter coins win my heart hehe
Cadbury Caramel eggs. I was SO EXCITED when those came out. The Creme ones look cool, but I just can't stand that filling. But caramel....mmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteHope I win! :-)
I can't resist peanut butter eggs drenched in quality chocolate...not the prepackaged ones (other than Reese eggs of course), but those made fresh in bakeries!
